Destiny 2 Season of the Deep is now live, and it has brought fishing to the game. Interestingly, it's not just a leisure activity. You can also earn new seasonal weapons by catching legendary and exotic fish.
It's also unsurprising that fishing has weekly challenges and triumphs associated with it. However, this not activity is not available to access from the get-go. Here's how to unlock fishing in Destiny 2.

How to Unlock Fishing in Destiny 2
You can unlock fishing by completing the first five steps of the Season of the Deep quest, "Into the Depths." After completing the mission "Operation Thunderbolt," return to the H.E.L.M. and talk to Sloane. Doing so will get you another quest called "Gone Fishin."
Start this quest by talking to Suraya Hawthrone in the Tower Bazaar, who will give you the fishing rod alongside the fishing tackle. From here on out, you're free to visit any of the unique fish ponds in EDZ, Throne World, and Nessus and start fishing.
However, to catch legendary and exotic fish, you will need bait. Collect bait by completing playlist activities, public events, patrols, Salvage, Deep Dive, and more.
How to Fish in Destiny 2
Once you have acquired the gear, head to one of three unique ponds. Approach the wharf and press Square (on PlayStation), X (on Xbox), and E (on PC) to cast the rod and catch the fish.
After catching a fish, go back to the H.E.L.M. and deposit it in the large aquarium you see at the center. Depositing new fish types will get you seasonal rewards. Later on, you can also decorate the aquarium, thus changing the look of the wing of the deep in the H.E.L.M.
That's everything you need to know about fishing in Destiny 2.
