Anthony Bourdain was an American chef, bestselling author, and television personality. He rose to prominence with the 2000 book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. Les Halles officially closed its doors in 2017 due to bankruptcy. As a writer, Bourdain’s first notable piece “Don’t Eat Before Reading This” was featured in the New Yorker in 1999.
